Running is a skill which must be taught to avoid injuries whatever level of sport you practise.

Biomechanical Analysis Session

The Biomechanical Analysis session will last 60 minute session and will be divided into 3 parts:

Part 1- A discussion to find out about your:

  •  Exercise and injury history.
  •   Goals and objectives.

Part 2 – This is divided into two parts:

2(a)Walking and Running Analysis

  • I will  video you walking and running from the back, side and at a variety of speeds and inclines.

Sometimes how we think we run is not how we actually run – This is a fascinating insight!

2(b) – Functional Movement Analysis

Using the Dynamic Movement Mat and a series of bodyweight exercises, this is a valuable benchmark assessment to identify whether you are moving efficiently when performing simple functional movements:

  • Squat.
  • Single leg exercises.
  • Fast footwork exercises.

This is a vital part of the process as very often an injury, bad habits over time or inactivity  can cause:

  • Muscle compensations and imblances when we move.
  • Slow movement
  • Injury recuurence.

Part 3 – Feedback on the Video Analysis.

We will then go through the video of you running and walking and the functional movement analysis together.

I will highlight what is going well and areas for development to ensure you are enhancing your overall running experience as whatever your level of experience as:

  • Running with good form and efficiency can make running feel more comfortable and enjoyable – increasing your running economy, which is the amount of energy you expend to run at a given speed.
  • Reduce joint impact – pain free running!
